Cops play Santa after alleged porch pirate tries to ruin Christmas

Police in Hollywood, Florida, played the role of Santa’s helpers after an alleged porch pirate tried to ruin Christmas for several families this holiday season.

The Associated Press reported that officers had received a call about a man snatching packages from people’s front doors.

The alleged thefts were caught on a doorbell camera installed at an apartment complex, WSVN reported.

Law enforcement members found a man who matched the suspect’s description but he ran when police tried to talk with him.

After a chase, officers finally took him into custody and searched his vehicle where they found 39 packages, WSVN reported.

Luckily officers could match most of the packages to their rightful owners and deliver them on Christmas Eve.

The alleged thief is facing burglary, grand theft and resisting arrest without violence charges, the AP reported.
