The deer smashed its way into the building through an emergency exit and then locked itself inside a classroom overnight, WSMV reported.
An officer with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency came to the school and was able to lead the buck back outside, WRCB reported.
The deer was blamed for overturning some tables and chairs but did not cause any major damage. The buck was not injured.
The officer who removed the buck told WSMV that because it is mating season, the buck was probably chasing a doe when it broke into the school.
