Actor and stand-up comic Larry Storch has died.
He was 99 years old.
Storch’s death was announced on his Facebook page, which said that he died overnight in his sleep.
Storch was born in New York City on Jan. 8, 1923, according to Forbes, and was known for his Bronx accent. He started as a stand-up comedian but eventually transitioned to television. His first major role was on “The Phil Silvers Show” in 1958, Deadline reported.
Storch was also a regular on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and lent his voice to characters such as Koko the Clown and Mr. Whoopee on the show “Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales.”
He also had his own show, “The Larry Storch Show,” in 1953, Forbes reported.
While Storch also appeared in such classics as “Car 5,4 Where Are You?,” “Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.” and “All in the Family,” he was best known as Agarn on the Wild West comedy “F Troop,” working alongside Forrest Tucker.
Storch wasn’t limited to television. He also appeared on stage in shows including “Porgy and Bess,” “Arsenic and Old Lace,” “Annie Get Your Gun” and “Sly Fox.”
