Wisconsin woman arrested for placing racist notes on vehicle windshields, police say

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Police in Wisconsin have arrested a woman on possible charges of making a terrorist threat, alleging she left racist notes on car windshields Thursday in a Walmart parking lot.

The suspect has been identified as Cathleen Yauch, 47, of Two Rivers, WGBA reported.

One note, which bore a strong resemblance to a hunting license, stated it gave permission to “hunt and kill (racial slur)” and to “hunt day or night. With or without dogs,” WLUK reported.

According to the TV station, the note included a “tag” to identify Black people.

A second car in the same parking lot received a similar note on its windshield, and Yauch was captured on security footage outside of the Manitowoc Walmart placing both notes on the cars, WLUK reported.

According to WGBA, a store employee recognized Yauch from a prior retail theft at the location.

In addition to the terrorist threat charge, Yauch also faces two counts of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping.
