Louisville police were called by Amanda Yff and Brent Bishop, who claimed the child fell off a bed. They told police the baby had a broken arm.

Bishop also goes by the name Michael Bishop, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.

EMS responded, taking Yff and the baby to a hospital, WAVE reported.

A forensic specialist examined the newborn and found at least five broken bones, including the humerus and radius in the baby’s left arm, the femurs of both legs and a broken tibia in the right leg. The medical professional also found a bruise on the baby’s head.

Yff said she had fallen asleep and when she and Bishop woke up, they couldn’t find the baby. Eventually, they claim the baby was located face-down on the floor next to the bed, the Courier-Journal reported.

An arrest warrant was issued and police went to the couple’s home where they said they found cocaine, methamphetamines, oxycodone and marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Yff and Bishop face charges of felony child abuse and drug possession.
