Amy L. Raff, who had posters of teen idol David Cassidy on her wall when he starred on “The Partridge Family” in the early 1970s, bought the home once owned by the singer, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Raff and her husband, Abe Rotchel, bought the six-bedroom, 7,167-square-foot home at 1600 S. Ocean Drive, in the Harbor Beach section of Fort Lauderdale, the newspaper reported.

“He was beautiful, but it’s very sad what happened to him,” Raff told the Sun-Sentinel.

Cassidy died at age 67 on Nov. 21, 2017, after he was hospitalized with liver and kidney disease, WTVJ reported. He had announced earlier that year he was suffering from dementia and was retiring as a performer.

Cassidy bought the home in 2001 for $1.1 million and lived there with his wife at the time, Susan Shifrin-Cassidy, the Sun-Sentinel reported. The couple lived there from 2002 until 2015. They then divorced, and Cassidy declared bankruptcy, the newspaper reported.

The house sold at auction for $2 million. Investors from Maryland rented the home, which was still furnished with some of Cassidy’s memorabilia. In 2018, it was listed for sale for $3.9 million.

“It turned out to just be a nice benefit that it used to be his house,” Raff told the Sun-Sentinel. “It’s a fabulous home in a great location.”

Raff said she and her husband planned extensive renovations to the home and its pool-patio area, the newspaper reported. The couple plan to move into the Fort Lauderdale area by the end of the summer to supervise the renovation.
